Chuck graduated from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce in 1978.

Following that, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in 1981. A resident of Nanaimo since age 4, Chuck returned to town and completed his articles with Saunders, Fabris and Murphy and was called to the bar in 1982. His principal areas of practice include, corporate and commercial matters, including leasing; real estate conveyancing; wills and estate planning; trusts and the probate and administration of estates.

Chuck is a former President of the Nanaimo City Bar Association and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, skiing and boating.
